The soft nuances of expectation that slumber, sometimes hesitate, just out of earshot of our own perception make use of an intuition that sends an impulse of longing to draw our attention to what gives deeper meaning to our day and to our life. A life-purpose destined beforehand to happen, whose promise is stored in the gene pool of our DNA. This is what prompts us to refine a talent, or a love, or an interest — a stirring in our bloodline that wants to break loose and pick up the track of being-free and being-singular, but rarely gets enough attention. Because how do you break loose from the grip of phobias or neuroses that hold you back and make you flinch out of fear of what people will say?
Conditioned to survive, even to be happy, within the narrow and enslaving borders of materialism, we never send our roots deeper into the unturned earth of our own being. Unfulfilled, we search without finding. True happiness is at the end of the rainbow, but the rainbow keeps moving. Because the deeper meaning and purpose of our life is not something you search for and find, but something you detect and discover — you come upon it.
We already have everything we need to live our destiny truly — it is in each of our fingerprints and in every expression of yourself. Your unique gift with instructions in fine print, written in the softer moments of your noticing. Your gift which only you can bring to expression, to bless and enrich humankind, but which is hijacked again and again by the conspiracy of society, tradition, education or politics. Most of the time it is things we must throw away that do an injustice to our own destiny, and not things we must take on.
If God has marked, with a circle on a map, your presence now and here in Wellington, you cannot help but realise and discover the right-to-exist of your own life here and now too — within the geographical borders of your immediate surroundings. Here, wonderful purpose-made destiny-opportunities hover day in and day out. A value that waits for us every day. A memorable downward flow of events for the day, the date, the place and the moment. If you lean in its direction, you discover God's hand, His plan and your life-purpose — a soft eye contact with your own heart and with the fragility of others.
